What is Net Neutrality ?

What is Net Neutrality: Net neutrality or Internet neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers and governments should treat all data on the Internet equally, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication. Net neutrality is a principle that says Internet service providers should treat all traffic on their networks equally. That means companies like Airtel should not block or slow down access to any website or content on the Web - for instance, to benefit their own services over those of competitors.
How can ISPs harm net neutrality?ISPs have previously talked about charging extra for services like Skype that compete with its voice business. That's against the principle of net neutrality that asks for all traffic to be treated equally.
What is zero-rating?Airtel has also announced a new service called Airtel Zero where it will offer customers free access to certain apps and services, with cost of this data traffic being borne by the partner. For example, if Flipkart signs up as an Airtel Zero partner, you will not be charged for data you use while accessing Flipkart, and Airtel will bill Flipkart for that session.

World Bank predicts 8 per cent GDP growth rate for India by 2017, says strong expansion in the country, coupled with favourable oil prices, will accelerate economic growth in South Asia. The World Bank has predicted a GDP growth rate of 8 per cent for India by 2017 and said that a strong expansion in the country, coupled with favourable oil prices, would accelerate the economic growth in South Asia. In India, GDP growth is expected to accelerate to 7.5 per cent in fiscal year 2015-16.
It could reach 8 per cent in fiscal year 2017-18, on the back of significant acceleration of investment growth to 12 per cent during fiscal year 2016-2018. The country is attempting to shift from consumption to investment-led growth, at a time when China is undergoing the opposite transition, it said in its semi-annual report. The bank's twice-a-year South Asia Economic Focus report projected steady increase in regional growth from 7 per cent in 2015 to 7.6 per cent by 2017 on grounds of strong consumption and increasing investment.

Amaravati is New Capital of Andhra Pradesh (AP)

Andhra Pradesh’s government on Wednesday formally decided to name its proposed capital “Amravati”, after the capital of the historical Satavahana Kingdom. The decision to this effect was taken at the state cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who returned from Singapore with the first phase of the master plan of the proposed capital, chaired the meeting. The AP government plans to build a world-class capital at Thorrur in Guntur district, near Vijayawada and has procured 35,000 acres from farmers. The masterplan for the new capital city is being drawn out by experts from Singapore who handed over a draft to Mr Naidu on Monday. The chief minister suggested certain changes after which the final draft is likely to be ready in two to three weeks. The new capital has both "vaasthu balam and nama balam", the chief minister said, suggesting that it is according to the ancient and traditional Indian science of architecture and also that the name carried a lot of weight and strength. The other big challenge for Mr Naidu is finances. The fiscal deficit is close to Rs. 18000 crore. The government estimates they need at least 20,000 crores to build the new capital. But the Centre has so far sanctioned only Rs. 1500 crore. They have promised more after they get to see the final draft plan for the new capital.
About Amaravati: Amaravathi is the Capital city of Andhra Pradesh located north of Guntur City. It is also referred as Amareswaram, for its famous Amareswara temple dedicated to Lord Siva, which is one of the famous Pancharamas. It was formerly known as Andhra Nagari. Krishna River passes through the east side of Amaravati
