- PM launches Digital India Week (1st July to 7th July 2015, in order to transform the country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy on Wednesday in New Delhi. The event is attended by a number of prominent industry leaders from across the world.
- Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh staged a comeback to the ODI squad after a gap of four years as a second-string team was on Monday named for next month's tour of Zimbabwe with the selectors opting to rest most of the senior players.
- Google will now help its users avoid misdirected or inappropriate emails with the 'Undo' option that allows them to cancel delivery of an email within 30 seconds of hitting the send button.
- Government launched a Digital Locker system within its Digital India programme which will help citizens to digitally store their necessary documents. These documents will be treated as legal and can be produced electronically through internet at any given time.
- Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was conferred with one of Peru's highest awards 'Grand Officer' for social work and mission. He has been presented the award for delivering peace through his foundation The Art of Living. Andean Parliament in Lima honoured Sri Sri with the award.
- US Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage, holds that gay people can marry in all 50 states of the country.
- China has opened a new, safer and more convenient route for Indians undertaking the arduous Kailash-Manasarovar Yatra as the first batch of pilgrims crossed the Indian border and entered Tibet via Nathu La, in the latest confidence-building measure between the two neighbours.
