Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) astronomers said that they have discovered a new planet. The exo-planet, dubbed GJ 1132b, is about the size of Earth and lives in a solar system roughly 39 light-years from Earth. In a report published in the prestigious journal Nature, the researchers said they discovered the new planet after noticing a very faint dimming of GJ 1132 every 1.6 days. The exoplanet is the closest rocky Earth-sized exo-planet ever discovered, by far.
