New teams from the cities of Pune and Rajkot will feature in the Indian Premier League 2016 and 2017. These teams will replace Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, which
were suspended by the RM Lodha Committee, appointed by the Supreme
Court to investigate the 2013 IPL corruption scandal. The new franchises
will be owning the team for two years.
